Yes, faith exists in relation to dobut...in some cases the manipulation of faith clouds our minds, but we shouldn't believe that it always muddies the water -- some turn to faith to find clarity or comfort; we cannot blame faith for our misunderstandings, we blame ourselves...I should have the ability as a reasonable, rational human being to maintain strength in my convictions while opening myself to knowledge and ideals that will help me grow. You have to ask without looking for an answer then observation can take place and then the workings of the mind can unfold. You say faith but faith is only needed because there is doubt present. So faith stops us from having clear perception of doubt so then one can't be free from doubt.
