Hamlet's immemorial self-scrutiny led him him to observe: "To be, or not to be? That is the question." And, like all good questions, the answer is implicit in it: a triumphant "to be!".  The "essence" of a "human being" is simply "being," his or her "essence" within the "Ground of Being."
