[satsang] Why do elaborate systems of ideas and beliefs...

Richard Young posted in satsang
Why do elaborate systems of ideas and beliefs make us feel safer when things go bump in the night? Why do we defend those systems, sometimes even unto death? Don't we know that everything exists on the edge of the Abyss and that we are that Emptiness itself? All security is false security--whistling in the graveyard. Wisdom is found when we abandon ourselves to radical insecurity.
